Michael Burdett is Postdoctoral Fellow in Religion, Science and Technology at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford, is an Associate Member of the Faculty of Theology and Religion, University of Oxford and is a Visiting Fellow at the University of St. Andrews. Before becoming an academic, Michael worked in the aerospace and robotics industries for several years working with a firm that had contracts with NASA and JPL. He holds degrees in engineering, physics, and theology. His academic interests lie at the intersection of science and technology, theology and philosophy and he has published and presented internationally on continental philosophy, transhumanism, the technological society and Christian theology. Currently he is working on two grants funded by the BioLogos Foundation and the Templeton Religion Trust. The first addresses human origins and religious issues and the other aims to train the next generation of science and religion leaders. He is author of the forthcoming monograph Eschatology and the Technological Future (Routledge, 2015).
