Matthew A. Benton

Matthew A. BentonMatthew A. Benton is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Seattle Pacific University. Prior to that he held postdoctoral research fellowships at the University of Oxford, and the University of Notre Dame. He did his Ph.D. in Philosophy at Rutgers University. His primary areas of research are epistemology, philosophy of language, and philosophy of religion, with additional interests in metaphysics and early modern philosophy. He has papers published or forthcoming in The Philosophical Quarterly, Analysis, Noûs, Philosophy & Phenomenological Research, Philosophical Perspectives, Synthese, Philosophical Studies, Episteme, Oxford Studies in Philosophy of Religion, Religious Studies, and European Journal for Philosophy of Religion. He is also co-editor of Knowledge, Belief, and God: New Insights in Religious Epistemology, Oxford University Press, 2018.
