Scott Elliott talks to MRB from Carmichael’s Bookstore in Louisville, KY
Scott Elliott is Associate Professor of English at Whitman College and author of two novels, Coiled in the Heart and Temple Grove. His work has also appeared in the New York Times and the Antioch Review. For his collection of short stories Return Arrangements he was a finalist for the 2009 Flannery O’Connor Award for Short Fiction.
In a series of four videos he talks about the idea for his latest novel, resetting ancient myths into contemporary stories, the challenges of writing religious characters, and how academics can improve their writing. We will release one new video each day during the week of October 28.
