Tara Isabella Burton is working on a DPhil in theology and nineteenth-century French decadent literature as a Clarendon Scholar at Trinity College, Oxford. She has written for Los Angeles Review of Books, The New Statesman, The Spectator, Salon, and more. In 2012 she received the Shiva Naipaul Memorial Prize for travel writing.
