Jill DeTemple is Associate Professor of Religious Studies at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She served several years as an agricultural extensionist with the U.S. Peace Corps in Ecuador before beginning her graduate studies. Her research interests include religiously sponsored development organizations, religions of Latin America, Pentecostalism, and theory and method in the study of religion. She is the author of Cement, Earthworms, and Cheese Factories: Religion and Community Development in Rural Ecuador (University of Notre Dame Press, 2012).
