Samuel Thrope is a writer and translator based in Jerusalem. Born and raised in Arlington, Massachusetts, Thrope earned his PhD at the University of California, Berkeley, and he is currently a Martin Buber Fellow at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He has written for The Daily Beast, The Jerusalem Report, Haaretz, Tablet, Times of Israel, and other publications. His translation of iranian writer Jalal Al-e Ahmad’s The Israeli Republic was published in 2013 by Restless Books.
